Downtown Living

Commerce StreetNestled on the western shores of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee blends small town ambience and big city excitement into a lifestyle that quickly captures the hearts of newcomers and locals alike. Downtown Milwaukee has all the amenities, cultural venues, dining, and sporting events of any large city, but without all the hassles. It is a wonderful place to call home, and with the recent boom in residential construction, downtown is only getting better and better.

For festivals and fun, Milwaukee is unmatched. From May through September the city vibrates with a dizzying array of activities, including parades, music festivals, SummerFest on the lakefront, ethnic celebrations, bicycle races, sailing regattas, block parties and art fairs, and more.

Art MuseumMilwaukee has a variety of art museums serving different needs and tastes. In addition to the well known Milwaukee Art Museum, there's the Eisner, which focuses on advertising and design, and Inova at UWM, which tends toward the cutting edge. Milwaukee also has an enticing array of historical, educational attractions, children's museums, as well as some truly unique venues like the International Clown Hall of Fame.

Miller ParkWhether your interest is baseball, basketball, ice hockey or soccer, Milwaukee has a professional team for you. There's the Milwaukee Brewers (MLB baseball), Milwaukee Bucks (NBA basketball), Milwaukee Admirals (NHL ice hockey), Milwaukee Rampage (outdoor soccer), Milwaukee Wave (indoor soccer), plus two NCAA college basketball teams: the Marquette Golden Eagles and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers. And just two hours north of Milwaukee, the Green Bay Packers NFL football team plays at the legendary Lambeau Field.

RestaurantsDining in Milwaukee is like taking a tour around the world. There are many excellent restaurants featuring German, Russian, Polish, Haitian, Italian, Mexican, Mongolian, Mideastern, Chinese, Cajun and Serbian specialties. In addition, Milwaukee can boast some of the finest restaurants offering continental cuisine. It would be impossible to list all of the excellent restaurants from the chic and trendy to the traditional favorites. It seems like an exciting new eatery is opening every month!

TheaterIn the mood for a concert? A play? The ballet? If you’re looking for a little culture, Milwaukee won't disappoint. The city is home to the Milwaukee Ballet, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Pabst Theater, the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, and a thriving theater and cultural arts scene.
